Beautiful but flawed
I purchased this three months ago and while it is beautiful, it is very difficult to actually light the matches. The striker bottle does not work easily, even following the tips. Unfortunately a lot of the match tips have broken in attempts to light them. Again, it is beautifully made, but I am very disappointed that it mostly just functions as an expensive match display.

I can’t light matches from the bottle. Very disappointed. It is a great idea, though.

Milk Bottle Match Striker
Let me start by saying I love all the Farmhouse Pottery products I have ordered, except for this one unfortunately, and I have spent hundreds of dollars here. When I received the Milk Bottle Match Striker, I noticed the glazing had dripped, pooled, and settled on one side. I contacted the company, sent in a photo of what I was referring to, and was told that this was normal. I was also sent pictures of a couple of others they have in stock that had a similar issue. Unfortunately, my eye went to it every time I looked at it so I did end up returning it. I don't make pottery but, in my opinion, this is a defect especially since the item in the stock photo is pristine. I asked if I could exchange the item for the Laurel Spoon Rest but was told they could not process an exchange and I could only be issued store credit. The downside is that this item was part of a much larger order for which I received free shipping. If I order just the spoon rest, i'll have to pay the shipping cost. I will say they responded very quickly but kind of a bummer the resolution wasn't better.
